QLD - KARUMBA - Queensland's Gulf Country

Karumba is part of the Carpentaria Shire and is even today uniquely THE Australian Outback by the Sea!

If you're into a fishing adventure or just love seafood, Karumba is the place. Just remember we really do mean adventure with a touch of living on the edge!

Karumba is renown for its crocs! Ron & Kris Pawlowski, the famous crocodile shooters and photographers, built their first home in Karumba in 1955. Kris became something of a legend for shooting the largest saltwater crocodile in Australia being over 28 foot in length!

There is heaps to do and see. Spotting the crocs is fun from a safe distance of course. The scenic flights and river cruising are great! You can feed the barramundi and of course the fishing charters are a must. You will also be amazed at the history which is still evident and part of Karumba today.

People living in this remote region will give you a warm welcome, real Aussies at their best!

Be sure to make this region and Karumba apart of YOUR Australian experience!
